Buying Guide: Tailgate Wraps For Pickup Trucks
- Fit and sizing: Most products target 25H x 65.75W or 66 x 23.6 inches. Always measure your tailgate height and width, and consider curvature or lips near the edge that could affect fit.
- Material and finish: Look for weather-resistant vinyl with laminate protection. Lamination helps resist UV fading, scratches, and moisture, keeping colors vibrant.
- Application features: Air-release vinyl reduces air bubbles; a strong adhesive backing ensures secure hold while allowing residue-free removal.
- Design considerations: Patriotic patterns, wildlife motifs, or tribal graphics work best on neutral or solid truck colors for contrast. Ensure the wrap complements the rest of your vehicle’s styling.
- Durability vs. removability: If you expect to replace the design, choose wraps marketed as removable with minimal surface damage. If permanent, prioritize heavy-duty vinyl with strong adhesion.
- Maintenance: Clean with mild soap and water; avoid harsh solvents that may damage vinyl or adhesives.
